Matt Cornell is fast becoming one Australia’s rising country music artists, recently nominated for two Golden Guitar Awards, in the ‘Male Artist Of The Year category, as well as Qantaslink New Talent Of The Year. He was also 2014 CMC Music Awards New Oz Artist of the Year finalist, and was nominated again, this time for Male Artist Of The Year at the 2017 CMC Music Awards. Cornell also enjoyed eight weeks in the No.1 spot on the iTunes Country Album Chart as part of Adam Brand & The Outlaws. That album went on to win ARIA Highest Selling Australian Album of the Year at the 2017 CMC Music Awards.

In 2016 Cornell was hand picked to open for Richard Marx on his Australian tour, & opened for Adam Brand on his ‘Get On Your Feet’ tour in 2017.

Before embarking on a solo career, Cornell was one of Australia’s premier bass playing backing vocalists, playing, recording & touring with Richard Clapton, Baby Animals, Jenny Morris, Shannon Noll, Damien Leith, Matt Finish & Angry Anderson.

Cornell released his fourth studio album ‘My Soundtrack’ on March 24th 2017 (his second country release), which debuted at No. 3 on the iTunes Country Album chart, he appeared on channel seven’s “The Daily Edition” as well as performing his hit single ‘In This Town’ on “The Morning Show.”

Cornell has graced the stages of SXSW in Austin Texas, New York’s CBGB’s, London’s The Borderline and Sheppard’s Bush Empire, to The Roxy and The Viper Room in LA, & is now cementing himself on the Australian country festival circuit, recently opening for the Red Hot Summer Tour in Bella Vista, performing at Country Rocks Festival in Sydney, playing the iconic Gympie Music Muster in 2015, 2017 & again this August in 2018, as well as the VDM Festival in October 2018, & has just been announced on this years Groundwater Festival on the Gold Coast.
